Powrvent
Extract Units
Construction
The cowl and base are made of heavy duty, fire retardant
glass fibre, coloured goosewing grey. All mounting brackets are steel. Special
protection for high hazard conditions is available. All glass fibre components
are UV stabilised.
Weather Protection
The cowl is designed to
give excellent weathering characteristics and is contoured to promote free air
flow through the unit, it also extends beyond the side of the base and down to
provide a generous overlap with the throat of the base.
Installation
All units are delivered fully assembled complete with flying leads pre-wired for
easy connection to the electrical supplied flat for sheeted roofs or for wall
mounting, tuned down to fit curb upstands or pre-formed soaker flanges suitable
for glazing mounting.

Powrvent Input SystemThe
Powrvent Units are based on a system of separate components or modules. This modular
concept allows maximum flexibility in both design and installation. Input Units
can be roof or wall mounted as required. Ductwork components include fans, filters,
heater batteries, recirculation/mixing boxes, duct bends and air distribution
heads. All internal ductwork is constructed from aluminium. Construction
The body of this unit is a normal section of duct, with a fan tray made of heavy
duty fire retardant glass fibre. The motor mounting bracket is fixed to this tray
with four anti-vibration rubber mountings. This gives isolation from the duct
for low noise and vibration levels and thus no resonance. There is a door for
ready access to the motor. The motor is supplied pre-wired to an externally mounted
junction box. To suspend the unit, eyebolts are included as standard in the structure
of the unit for attaching guy wires or other support structures. |
Installation

Motors
The foot
mounting motors are to IEC Standards and are fitted with ball bearing runners,
sealed for life, providing virtually maintenance free operation.
All motors
are Class 'F' insulated and suitable for running in temperatures up to 54°C
as standard. Enclosure to IP54.
Impellers
All impellers are of
composite construction, with glass fibre reinforced polypropylene blades mounted
on a cast aluminium alloy hub. This lightweight assembly means low starting resistance,
reduced starting loads. Fine limit balancing gives quiet and smooth running. The
construction is resistant to attack by dilute acids and alkalis, oil and at low
temperatures, many organics.
