Commercial Heating for Sport and Leisure Facilities

Wednesday, December 22nd, 2010

As a visitor to the gym or to a sports centre to participate in a game of squash or badminton, or a relaxing swim, you would expect to be kept warm because of the physical exercise you’re doing. However before you start any exercise and after you’ve finished your workout and got changed, it is important that the heat you’ve built up remains. This is where commercial heating from us here at Heaters Wholesale can assist sports centres and gyms, the length and breadth of the UK.

Heating a vast area such as a gym or leisure centre to a comfortable temperature for all concerned can be a difficult task. However, here at Heaters Wholesale, we’d recommend one of the following types of heating.

Warm Air Heating (forced air and natural ventilation):

By circulating the air from the outside to inside and vice versa, warm air heaters, and in particular forced air heaters ensure that a comfortable air temperature is maintained throughout the day, allowing those that are pushing it in the gym to remain comfortably heated once they emerge into the foyer.

Along with keeping the room(s) warm during the winter, warm air heating is also the ideal form of commercial heating to keep the room(s) cool during the sweltering summers, as it can function as air conditioning too.

Radiant Heating:

Perhaps the best form of heating for large spaces, such as indoor football pitches, a radiant heater, unlike your conventional heaters doesn’t heat just the air; it heats the surroundings to ensure that the room stays warm. So even when your hall or gym isn’t being used, the first person in is guaranteed to be greeted by a stunning warmth.

Whichever form of commercial heating you opt for, when our experienced and Gas Safe engineers here at Heaters Wholesale fit it for you, you will be able to rest assured that you’ll be getting a quality heating product which will keep your gym or leisure centre adequately heated to the perfect temperature.

The Different Types of Radiant Heating

Friday, December 17th, 2010

We are currently enduring in the coldest winter the UK has experienced in over seventeen years. The children may be enjoying it as they venture outside to play in the snow, but many adults will be less than impressed as they have to rely heavily on their heating systems, both at work and at home. Finding the right heater that will adequately heat the property and keep it warm throughout the day is therefore of paramount importance. Here at Heaters Wholesale we’re on hand to help, especially with our range of quality radiant heating – all of which can be used with either natural gas or liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).

Here at Heaters Wholesale we understand that the various forms of radiant heating come with individual benefits, and we’ve briefly outlined the benefits of two forms of radiant heaters below.

Overhead Heaters:

If you’re looking to provide a substantial source of heat to a warehouse or sports centre, the most effective form of radiant heating would be an overhead system.

Installing such a heating system will enable you to maintain the floor space you already have available, but at the same time providing enough heat to keep staff and visitors warm throughout the day.

Floor Heaters:

With floor heaters either heating coils or water heated tubing need to be installed under the floor, which will then act as the main source of heat.

Under floor radiant heating will ensure that as you wake up on those cold winter mornings, as soon as your feet touch the floor, you’ll feel the warmth seep through you, as the heating systems uses the whole length of the floor to provide heat.

Whether you opt for either of the above radiant heating systems or one of the others that are available from us here at Heaters Wholesale, what you can be certain of is that you will be saving money on your utility bills, whilst also keeping your property warm throughout winter.

The Difference between Radiant Heating and Traditional Industrial Heating

Friday, December 10th, 2010

Ever since the onset of the industrial revolution and the beginning of manufacturing, factories and industrial buildings have struggled to retain heat and keep workers warm. Since the development of the most basic heating technology, the industrial heating market has grown from strength to strength. Here at Heaters Wholesale, we’re committed to remaining at the very forefront of market leading innovation, but we’re only able to do this by learning from the past. The case in point is how popular radiant heating has become in recent years, compared to more traditional warm air heating systems. Both are worth investing in, but radiant heating represents the most eco – friendly option.

By their very nature, factories are cold and draughty places. Many were built some time ago, before heat loss was a major concern, and even modern units can often be constructed hurriedly, with little thought to saving heat and energy. Combine these design features with the inevitable limitations of warm air heating, and companies can spend over the odds to keep employees warm.

For example, the high ceilings found in many industrial buildings tend to lead to a process known as stratification, whereby the air in the room arranges itself into layers of temperature, ascending from cold air at floor level to warmer air up near the ceiling.

By contrast, our radiant heating here at Heaters Wholesale works by a process called radiation, whereby heat is transferred by infrared rays directly to nearby workers. As this reduces the likelihood of stratification, it means that companies can more closely control the direction and flow of heat, thus allowing them to use the money spent on heating more efficiently.

Take a look around your industrial property; do you have high ceilings or regularly used loading bay doors through which hot air can escape? Are you spending a fortune on heating bills? If so, your industrial heating methods could require re-evaluation; please don’t hesitate to get in touch with our team to discuss how to make the most of more contemporary technology.

Efficient Factory Heating Can Save Money

Friday, December 3rd, 2010

Monday mornings are a drain at the best of times, the thought of five early mornings and eight hours at work are never going to be something that will cause you to jump with joy. Add working in a cold factory to this, and surely you’ve got enough reason not to want to get out of your warm toasty bed. Here at Heaters Wholesale, we’re helping make cold factories a thing of the past by supplying factory heating that also helps to help save money in the long run – it’s therefore beneficial for both workers and owners.

With the economic system in the UK still being less than perfect, here at Heaters Wholesale we understand that businesses don’t want to be splashing the cash if they can help it. However, we also appreciate the importance of making sure that your workers can work in a comfortable environment, which is why we provide a range of efficient factory heating which will save you money.

When we sell you a heater for your factory, we promise that you’ll be getting a quality and energy efficient heating device, which can be installed with little disruption by one of our Gas Safe engineers.

A popular form of heating system that we install is the:

Warm Air Heater:

These heaters are designed to manage the air throughout a building, which enables them to make sure that the room stays at a comfortable temperature and that any bad smells from machinery are quickly evaporated.

An added benefit of warm air heaters is that they use very little energy and are ideal for use within the commercial market.

For those factories where space is at a premium and cannot be compromised by installing a large factory heating system, then one of the other units such as suspended heating systems, which we offer, may be the ideal solution. Easy to install and suitable to be fixed to a wall, they provide a fantastic heat source and take up little space.
