How Radiant Heating Works

Friday, November 26th, 2010

When you’ve been successful in the heating industry for over 20 years as we have here at Heaters Wholesale, you build up a strong foundation of knowledge regarding how your products and services work. However, while this is definitely the case for all of our engineers, we remain committed to making sure that our customers understand radiant heating and our other services fully. This way, they can have confidence in an installation or repair. Many clients ask us how radiant heating systems work, so here follows a brief description behind this increasingly popular form of industrial, commercial and residential heating.

Radiant heating is often defined according to how it differs from forced or warm air heating. This type of system warms the air, which is then circulated within a building to warm the inhabitants. By contrast, radiant heating, which usually involves the circulation of heated water (Hydronic heat) works by a process called infrared radiation.

Using the same principle as the sun, this type of heat radiates from its source without the need for a circulation medium, thus warming floors, walls, people and objects directly. The beauty of this method, when installed properly by a team like ours here at Heaters Wholesale, is that when warm air leaves a room, the temperature is largely unaffected, as room objects retain their warmth.

Radiant heating involves the installation of panels, radiators or coils within the walls, all of which act as conductors which direct heat into the desired areas. They can be powered by regular gas or oil fired boilers or solar power, and are more efficient in terms of electricity consumption than warm air alternatives.

The basic layout of a radiant heating system comprises a heat source, a pump and various controls, and then the area to be heated. This relative simplicity, which doesn’t waste energy through heat lost via large lengths of ducting, is affordable, efficient and relied upon more and more by a variety of Heaters Wholesale clients.

Beating the Winter Cold with Industrial Heating

Friday, November 19th, 2010

Now that the clocks have gone back, the days are appearing shorter and there is a constant chill in the air – not to mention a frost on the floor first thing in the morning, it’s important that you have your warehouse sufficiently heated for your workers. Finding the right type of heating system to help you beat the winter weather can be a difficult task, but here at Heaters Wholesale, we’ve compiled a brief list of some of industrial heating systems we provide.

For more than the last twenty years, here at Heaters Wholesale we’ve been providing businesses throughout the UK with a wide range of industrial heating systems, which include the following.

Gas Suspended Units:

Due to the compact design of these units they require limited space, making them ideal for warehouses and business where space is at a premium.

Gas suspended units are also easy to install, maintain and operate; whilst being suitable for use with both natural gas and Liquefied Petroleum Gas.

Radiant Heating:

Perhaps one of the most efficient industrial heating systems we stock at Heaters Wholesale, radiant heating works in a different way to your normal heating systems. Whilst gas suspended units and floor standing units circulate hot air around a building, radiant heating acts more like an oven and heats the people and objects within.

As it heats the area in this way, installing a radiant heating system is a sensible suggestion for all large industrial units, as it heats the area quicker and maintains the heat for longer.

Here at Heaters Wholesale, we promise that depending on your heating needs and the size of the area that requires the heat, we’ll be able to provide you with an industrial heating system which will help you beat the winter cold. All the heating systems we stock will not only help heat the required area, but used effectively, they’ll also help to save you money in the long run.

Saving Energy with Radiant Heating

Friday, November 12th, 2010

It’s an unfortunate reality that in the decades gone by humanity has used huge amounts of energy with no regard for the environment, and while this is no one person’s fault, many of us feel the need to do our bit to reduce the affect that our energy use has on the planet. Here at Heaters Wholesale we’re dedicated to helping our customers save energy with their radiant heating for the purposes of enhanced eco – friendliness and extra savings on energy bills. To do this, we rely on the natural efficiency of our innovative technology.

It’s fair to say that the main two forms of industrial heating in use today are warm air heating and radiant heating. Despite their wide usage in similar environments, each type of technology is very different. Here at Heater’s Wholesale, our experience in the industry has shown us that radiant heating is possibly the more efficient option out of the two due to how it works.

Rather than simply heating the air, radiant heaters heat the people and objects in the room, much like a fire does. Warm air heating relies, as its name suggests, on transferring heat via the air itself but unfortunately air is easily lost through opened windows, doors, and draughts etc, meaning that the heat too is lost. Conversely, the objects that radiant heating warms, such as people, machines or the ground are usually fairly stationary within the room and so don’t transfer the heat elsewhere.

We have a variety of radiant heating equipment available; the choice depends upon what level of heating to energy consumption ration you’re looking to achieve. Our continuous low intensity systems for example can offer as much as 91.0% net efficiency! Plenty more information and our contact details can be found on this website; take the time to consider the savings our equipment can offer.

Warm Air Heaters for Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning

Friday, November 5th, 2010

Typically most businesses, indeed, most people, will find that their outgoing expenses will differ depending on the time of year. Most of us experience seasonal trends in how much we spend, for example Christmas is usually an expensive time for most individuals while retail businesses tend to do well at this time of year. Here at Heaters Wholesale we’ve noticed that all of us regardless of who we are, tend to spend more on our heating bills during the winter months due to the rising cold.  With this in mind, we can offer competitive rates on all warm air heaters.

In fact, here at Heaters Wholesale we offer a wide range of heating solutions which are designed to offset the all year round cost of heating, ventilation and air conditioning. Any expense is best met by competent budgeting, and with our help businesses can make savings.

This is because our warm air heaters also double as air conditioners, which brings a huge advantage to your premises.  Rather than having to invest again once the summertime arrives, customers with our systems simply switch the function over and enjoy the benefits of effective air conditioning.

While this kind of system has two distinct functions, the ventilating benefits can be enjoyed when using either setting. Our equipment can effectively remove dust and some allergens from the air within a building, providing an environment which is more conducive to higher levels of productivity.

With our discreet and low impact installation procedures, it’s easy to see why more and more companies are investing in our services now, before the cold weather truly descends.

Whether it’s heating or cooling in which you’re interested, our warm air heaters could provide the most logical, eco – friendly and cost effective solution. For more information please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us, either via our contact form or using one of the telephone numbers provided.
